The Founders painting at Ibrox

It was these incredibly moving words which inspired us to approach the Artist Helen Runciman www.helenrunciman.co.uk  and have this image put onto canvas for Rangers fans to enjoy.

It describes a time of innocence, when one man took it upon himself to travel across Glasgow and stand guard over a good piece of ground to ensure the Rangers had somewhere decent to play their first games.

The Painting was unveiled on Saturday 17th October 2009 at the Founders Dinner within Ibrox Stadium by Peter McNeil's Grand-Daughters Heather Lang and Doreen Holland. Also attending was the artist Helen Runciman, Rangers legend Davie Wilson and Youth Players Andrew Shinnie and Tom Miller.

Later that month also saw the Founders Painting being presented to Rangers Captain David Weir at Auchenhowie.

The Founders Painting now hangs proudly at the top of the Marble Staircase within Ibrox Stadium.
